CANARIES WITH KIDS

BUDGET INDIVIDUAL TRAVELS WITH CHILDREN ON THE CANARY ISLANDS

Hello OUT there!

I'm Tina, 39 years old and a single mother of a now 5-year-old. I like to be spontaneous, I'm not the organized mum who has her fixed weekly and daily schedule, but I try to remain spontaneous even with a child - as far as possible ;D I like to follow my impulses, am curious, like to travel and explore new things, am quite outspoken, love music and dancing (especially Caribbean/Latin America/Africa), summer, spring, being outside, long conversations about everything and nothing, situation comedy, laughing , be silly, just let myself drift... Before my daughter was born, I was mainly traveling in Latin America and especially the Caribbean (and then twice more with her), but this time I didn't dare to travel so far: For 9 months we have been roaming around the Canary Islands on a small budget. 3 months La Gomera, now Gran Canaria.

We have had very good experiences. It is sometimes (despite a good knowledge of Spanish) a little tedious to find affordable accommodation with little money, but it is worth it. Especially here on Gran Canaria, the people are very (kid) friendly and with a little help (and if you are not too demanding) you can ultimately be on the go with children quite well. Here I offer you my help, gladly for a small donation. I speak good Spanish, so I can also offer further on-site help and other things. If you are interested in cultural events, parties and festivals on Gran Canaria, I'm sure I have something for you too. And since I feel in all possible directions and am also considering staying here permanently, I could also be the right contact person for you if you don't just want to travel. I'm doing this for free, but of course I hope to get a little support for my own travels and life here on Gran Canaria through the website. First of all, I will concentrate on what little I know about the Canaries so far; if I see that the page is well received and throws off a bit, more will follow soon. To be continued!

Do you like what I'm doing here?

The Emailaddress you can find on the PP-logo.
Thank you so much for your appreciation!

AcComodation

Travelling with kids has its costs. Not only flights are to pay (usually almost fully from age 2!), I also almost paid the full ferry price from Tenerife to La Gomera for my little one, and of course children want and need stuff all the time (mine: food, food again, food once more ;). It's hard to always say no to extra stuff. So if you want to travel cheap(er) to be able to travel longer and to afford good food for example and a nice cup of icecream once in a while, you can save money on other things, for example on accomodation. (Accomodation here on Gran Canaria and La Gomera often cost 50€ a night upwards, I heard other islands being even more expensive. Also buying at the supermarket is not really cheap, I'd say its more expensive than in my hometown Munich/ Germany.)

If you, for example, don't mind a little lack of luxury, you can save a lot of money on travels. For me personally, it's not only that it's way cheaper, but also I really prefere this way of travelling.

We love being with people, so a hostel, community or similar places for us are perfect. We used to live in a shared house of 10 people and my girl loved it, also it helped me as a single mom (single, not seperated) out a lot and made me feel so much better with maternity (i was so much more relaxed then). Was the best idea ever. But that's another story! ;)

(If you want to talk about living in shared flats/houses with children or live in Germany/closeby and wanna join my whatsapp-group to find people to live with, just let me know.)

If you don't have a lot of budget, talk to people! Many do give discounts!

Under construction! More coming soon.
